Creative Writing Special Rules in addition to General Rules
1 . Scripts must clearly bear the class number and title of the piece.
2. Scripts must not contain any indication of the name and address of the author. Names, addresses and the title are to be shown separately on the entry form. Single entries will be allocated reference numbers on receipt: multiple entry forms contain reference numbers which are to be written on the scripts by the entrants.
3. ALL MANUSCRIPTS MUST ACCOMPANY THE ENTRY FORM AND BE SENT TO MRS L M KIRBY C/O 10 SPRING LANE, SLOUGH, BERKS. SL1 5BQ
4. Competitors may submit more than one entry, provided that each script is detailed on the entry form and accompanied by the appropriate fee.
5. Competitors who wish to have their manuscripts returned with the adjudicator’s comments on their work, must enclose a stamped, addressed A4 envelope.
6. Entries in the 19 years and over classes must be typewritten and double spaced on one side of the page only. Entries in other classes may be either typed or handwritten on one side of A4 paper with adequate margins.
7. The age of the competitor is taken as on 1st September 2009.
8. The competition is open to professionals and amateurs.
9. Entries must not have been published.
10. Winning manuscripts may be published and displayed at other Festival events.
11. The copyright of manuscripts shall rest with the committee until after the presentation of awards.
12. The Festival cannot accept responsibility for any breach of copyright by entrants.
13. Multiple entries must be on a separate entry form for each CW class.
14. First, second and third place certificates will be awarded for each class, provided a suitable standard is reached. Other entries of sufficient merit will receive certificates awarding Highly Commended or Commended grades.
