2023 Bursary Winners

Winner – Antonio Clemente

I am nearing the end of my first year at Laine Theatre Arts on the three year musical theatre diploma course. I am so thankful to have received the busary money as I have used it towards some LaDuca shoes which we often use in classes at Laine and are also frequently used on the West End.

Runner Up – Sasha Watson-Lobo

I first competed at Slough festival when I was just 4yrs old and was honoured to be asked to compete in the Bursary Class of the 2023 festival. The standard of the other competitors was extremely high, and I was thrilled to be announced as the Runner-Up.

It was important to me that the prize money was spent on dance-related things. Throughout the year, it has been used to buy various dance shoes, but my favourite purchase has to be my new tap costume which I am very excited to wear at Slough Festival 2024.

Thank you to all the organisers and helpers who continue to make Slough Arts Festival possible. I’m very grateful for my Bursary Runner-Up Award and will look forward to seeing you all in April for another friendly festival.
