Bursary
We were able once again to hold our fantastic bursary class for our senior competitors.
Awards of £300 to the winner and £200 to the runner up of our bursary class go towards further dance training.
1st place winners from classes C, D and E/F are invited to compete again on the final day of the festival for the bursary. As we had single age groups this year, the adjudicator selected the winner in each genre. If a dancer wins more than one class, they will choose which one of their dances they would like to perform.
Emily Meats
The bursary I recieved from Slough festival helped me to buy new tap shoes, which were very much needed as my previous pair had been well loved. I used the remaining money to fund my ticket to Move It 2026, as well as some additional classes, which I will be attending with my dance school this year to talk to colleges and conservatoires about further education. Thank you so much to the team at Slough for providing me with this opportunity, and continuing to do so for others every year, I am immensely grateful!
This year, Slough Arts Festival is offering two sponsored places, one classical, one jazz, for the UKYD 2025 event.
The nominees will be selected by the adjudicator.
If you are selected and have already applied we will cover your costs.
If you have not yet applied but want to be considered for nomination, please visit the UKYD website for information straightaway because the closing date is the end of April so you will have to get your skates (not to mention your dance shoes) on!
